I'm at the end of heartgold trying to take down red for the first time since I played soulsilver as a 10 year old with an action replay. so far the experience has been something like "what do you mean a level 65 zapdos with max evs and choice specs can't oneshot a single water type. levels are supposed to be just a number"

#have I neglected the mention the number of pokemon games I've been blasting through on emulator since october #I don't even remember #this is like the 4th game #(not counting xd which I started but then sort of stopped because it was agonizingly slow)#(I love xd but also. you can play for like 2 hours and have only finished 3 battles)#my rules are simply “start with the grass type and no healing items during battle”#pokemon becomes slightly more difficult with those in mind. especially e4s #random stuff #when I say I had an action replay when I was a kid what I mean is I exp blasted two of my pokemon up to like lvl 95 to win lol

#play Mak. get killed by weapons Vanessa #play weapons Vanessa. lose to fucking everything somehow #day 3-5 for multiple runs in a row are only ignition Dooleys. they just throw 3 fire items on the board and win i guess #Boariar change is fucking dumb. now I never get the extra exp #i never see the snake anymore so its way harder to get a good start #Mak has a crazy slow early game so he's not fun until halfway through the run #and Vanessa has so many fucking items I cant get a build together anymore #if i want weapons i get random aquatics and if i want aquatics i get shitty weapons #the bazaar

I started playing pokemon diamond! i've been meaning to play it for ages so im super excited to jump in and finally play a 2D pokemon game, though i dont know if i trust either of my rivals yet.... I've only ever played pokemon games where you get exp share pretty much at the start so remembering to individually level up my whole teams gonna be a bit of a learning curve but im always up for new challenges

Naming my starters has always been important to me, it took me a while to come up with her's but i ended up picking Mori, after the japanese word for forest and a city in hokkaido, the island that's the partial inspiration for sinnoh :)
